The intense pace of work and life, along with the effects of negative environmental factors, causes skin quality to deteriorate over time. Collagen fibers are the main protein fibers responsible for the elasticity of our skin. 80% of the collagen fibers in our skin are type I and 20% are type III collagen, and these fibers are what make the skin flexible and smooth. However, people aged 25 and over lose about 1.5% of their collagen each year, leading to a decrease in skin elasticity, moisture retention, and moisture density. Due to this loss, expression lines deepen in the early 30s, followed by sagging and hollowness. The breakdown of collagen and elastic fibers is accompanied by a decrease in the body’s own hyaluronic acid levels.
Mesotherapy, first applied in France in 1952, is a method using very fine and short needle tips. Facial mesotherapy is an anti-aging system that injects vitamins, minerals, and hyaluronic acid into the skin (the middle layer of the skin) to make your skin look more vibrant and smooth. In facial mesotherapy treatment, depending on the need, a combination of substances such as salmon DNA protein, antioxidants, various vitamins, DMAE (Dimethyl Amino Ethanol), and low concentrations of hyaluronic acid can be applied.
When medications are administered orally, intravenously, or by intramuscular injection, absorption losses can occur, meaning that not all of them reach the affected organ. Furthermore, since medications given through these routes can reach other organs via the bloodstream, there is a possibility of side effects. Mesotherapy, on the other hand, delivers medication directly to the problematic area in small amounts through microinjections, minimizing unwanted side effects.
The number of injections varies depending on the patient, the condition, and the anatomy of the area to be injected. Definitive results are obtained within 4-6 sessions with this treatment method.
Due to the injections into the skin during sessions, redness, bruising, and mild swelling may occur immediately after the procedure. These are all temporary. However, it is recommended that individuals have this procedure done at least 3-4 days before important events.
After cleansing the skin, an anesthetic cream is applied to the areas to be treated with mesotherapy and left for 20-30 minutes. Then, mixtures prepared according to the skin type are injected into the skin using small needles. Combining it with PRP treatment or filler and Botox applications improves the quality of the results.
Mesotherapy is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, those with infections in the treatment area, and those using blood thinners.
A course of treatment consisting of 4-6 sessions, performed approximately 1-2 weeks apart, is considered a full course. To maintain the vitality and improvement achieved after treatment, it is recommended to repeat the treatment every 6 months.
Mesotherapy can be applied to the cheeks, forehead, eye corners, upper lip, chin, neck, and décolleté area, as well as the backs of the hands.
Scalp Mesotherapy
This is a scientifically proven treatment to stop hair loss; to strengthen fine hairs and transform them into dark black hairs; and to stimulate new hair growth. Although externally applied products may make hair look shinier and more vibrant, the hair returns to its dull and brittle state the next day. This is because the hair follicle, the hair growth center, is not targeted, so permanent improvement cannot be achieved.
Patients should wash their hair before mesotherapy. After scalp disinfection, the necessary products are injected using small needles.
Hair coloring, highlighting, and similar treatments should be avoided 24 hours before and after mesotherapy. Hair should not be washed for 24 hours afterward.
Mesotherapy is not performed on pregnant or breastfeeding women, those with infections in the area to be treated, or those using blood thinners.
An average of 4-5 sessions are required to achieve the desired results. Hair mesotherapy can be combined with PRP treatment. PRP application improves the quality of the results.
